Lianyungang Marine Chemical Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Jiangsu Jinhai Investment Inc., and is founded on the basis of former Lianyungang No. 1 Marine Chemical Factory through ownership reform. The company was established in 1965, and is one of the most important developers, manufacturers, and dealers of bromine chemicals.
The company mainly produces bromic flame retardants including tetrabromobisphenol A bis(2,3-dibromopropyl ether), tetrabromobisphenol and the like, and alkyl bromides including bromomethane, bromoethane, bromopropane and the like. The products are widely applied as flame retardants of engineering plastics and in the organic synthesis of medicines, agricultural chemicals, and dyes. Among them, the main products tetrabromobisphenol A bis(2,3-dibromopropyl ether) and bromomethane occupy a domestic market share of over 60%, and have been certified as High and New Tech Products by Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province. The company has been designated by the state and the former Ministry of Chemical Industry to draft national standards and industrial standards of bromine products for many times, and has been granted many ministerial, provincial, or municipal Awards of Science and Technology Progress.
Approved by Lianyungang Science Committee, the company established “Lianyungang Research Center of Flame Retardant Engineering and Technology” in early 2002, which further enhances the industrial, academic and research collaboration, industrializes a batch of high and new tech products, and sets a solid foundation for future development of the company. in year 2006, and have been certified as High and New Tech Enterprise by Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province. The company was granted the titles of “Advanced Enterprise of Industrial, Academic and Research Collaboration” and “Advanced Enterprise of Technical Innovation” by Lianyungang Municipal Government in year 2002, and was appraised as “Blue Enterprise” by Lianyungang Bureau of Environmental Protection in May 2004. Furthermore, the company passed the integrated certification of ISO9001 Quality Management System, ISO14001 Environment Management System, and GB/T28001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System in June 2005, and gradually develops to a green and health enterprise.
